The Wizard® SV 96 Genomic DNA Purification System provides a high-throughput, membrane-based technique for consistent preparation of genomic DNA from cultured cells and tissue, including mouse tails. Amplifiable genomic DNA can be isolated from up to 5 × 10⁶ cells, 20mg of tissue or up to 1.2cm of a mouse tail tip without a centrifugation clearing step.

With the Wizard® SV Genomic DNA purification system, genomic DNA is purified from cell lysates using 96-well vacuum filtration. Washing the bound DNA requires no disassembly of the manifold, and filtrate waste products are delivered directly to a vacuum trap, eliminating the need to empty waste collection trays.

The Wizard® SV Genomic DNA Purification System is designed for use either in a manual format or with Beckman Coulter or PerkinElmer automated instruments.

For manual purification, the Wizard® SV Genomic DNA Purification System requires a vacuum pump capable of generating 15–20 inches of Hg or the equivalent and the Vac-Man® 96 Vacuum Manifold (Cat.# A2291) or similar manifold. The Vac-Man® 96 Vacuum Manifold requires the use of a vacuum trap (not provided).
